People just like to say Sal-sa

So, the sneak peek was of my Habanero peppers that were planted back in...May? Anywho, added to some tomatoes and spices they made a VERY HOT salsa. So, they were then added to some more tomatoes and more spices. That made an edible salsa which was used at a work pot-luck! Much fun...

In knitting news, the modification on Fetching is still on the back burner. I have since finished a pair of mittens for another co-worker. Once I have an acceptible picture of the blocked product, I will post them. They are pretty cute and totally made-up. I have also started a pair of socks. They rib and Cable socks by Nancy Rush in the Fall 2005 edition of Interweave Knits. There are some pretty great versions of those on Ravelry. I looked them up before I started!

In outdoor news, this plant that I took a picture of so long ago must have gone to the lovely garden in the sky because it has been replaced. I do like the new one though....

In puppy news, I think that Izzie might not be in that category for much longer. She is still pretty cute though.

That's it for now. Hope your having a great day...

Photography skillz

...Apparently, I have none.

Anywho, I took pictures of my sockapalooza 4 haul! Wow, did my partner spoil me. I got beautiful socks. Seriously, thank you! Then comes the other goodies... Beautiful yarn, beautiful stitch markers, beautiful cards.... wow! Thank you Dani M. (I would link to you but your website doesn't seem to be working)!

Right, so, even though the picture doesn't truly convey the awesomeness that was my sockapalooza package, it was a great exchange. It was all I could do to keep from winding up and casting on that beautiful purple yarn. (Again, you might not be able to tell from the picture, but the yarn is all shades of purple, mm.) I did, however, resist because I probably have enough knitting projects in the works right now.

Just so that you don't think I've changed my irresponsible-knitting ways, I did "start a new project" in the sense that I totally signed up for an exchange on swap-bot. I signed up for the fiber art photography ATC swap. Photography is a hobby of mine and I try to take decent pictures. Unfortunately, I will have to work on my knitterly photography skillz. I'm eager to work on it!

I got distracted

I've been unfocused lately.

I started a pair of Fetching mittens for a co-worker. They are to be modified to have half fingers in them. Not an impossible feat, as I have already seen it done...

Then, a 4th year student mentioned that she would like a pair of mittens. She mentioned paying me, but I said there was no way. We eventually settled on a trade. As a jewelry maker, she is going to trade me a beautiful new necklace for a pair of mittens. I'm excited. The problem is that I didn't even officially pick out a pattern yet.

What's my problem? I saw this pattern and had to have one. Luckily, it is a very fast knit. I went to Jo-Ann's on Sunday, picked up the yarn, practically cast on in the car ride home (not really, but I've seen other people multi-task while they drive...), and if I were to measure it, I am more than half way done with the knitting part (ah how I hate the finishing!), which is excellent!!

This was taken at work yesterday. I have about twice as much done now...

I think I need a Knitting ADD support group....

Just in the knick of time!

My beautiful socks are done just in time to send to my secret partner for sockapalooza 4. I had a lot of fun making them and threatening to make RT a matching pair. Tonight I have to give them a bath and find some other goodies to stuff in the package with them! I'm so excited and I hope my pal likes them as much as I do.

I will just say, it's a good thing that I have joined the health-wise knitter's group on ravelry because I am certainly not flexible enough to take decent pictures of my own feet. I will probably be laughing for weeks now envisioning myself folding up like a pretzel to take pictures of my hand-knit, socked feet.

Who is going to believe me when I try to tell them I pulled my hamstrings knitting?! hehe.
