Can you help?

I sent this email out to family and friends. E-mail me if you can help at kmophardt [at] yahoo [dot] com!

Hello Family, friends, and friends of friends,

This year has been a busy year for me! Regardless of how busy I am though, I love to participate in the MS Walk. It is again that time of year and I need your help.

With the participation of everyone last year, I blew past my goal of $300 to reach about $420 as my final donation. I have even higher hopes this year to reach $450. While this may be a high goal, I have faith in you guys.

Every donation is welcome and I’m making it pretty easy to give this year. You can send a check, made out to MSWalk. Just sent it to my address which I have included that at the bottom. Or, you could log on this website (just click that) and donate online. ( All you have to do is click the link and then click on the "Donate/Pledge" button. I am doing the Columbus, OH walk and you can search for me by typing in Kristen O p h a r d t (without the spaces)).

The last thing you could do to help is pass this letter on to all your magnanimous friends. I know with everyone’s help I can get to, if not by-pass, my goal for this year as well.

Thank you all for your time and thank you in advance for anything you can do! This cause is very important to me and I appreciate everyone’s patience as I attempt to make a difference! The MSWalk is here in Columbus on April 28th. Preferentially, I would like to have most of the money to take on the day of the walk, but the official deadline is June 1st.

With Love,
Kristen =-)
PS. I've been "hired" to make some Harry Potter scarves. I'm pretty excited!

So Excited

Lots of great things happen in the land of Kristen.

Mostly, I am very excited to be participating (again) in the sockapalooooza. I have many ideas for sock patterns but I have to wait to get my sock pal's information. In the meantime, I have (gasp) no knitting on the needles.

While I wait, maybe I should make use of some gift yarn I got a while ago. I have to come up with something for 20 skeins (10 skeins each of 2 colors) of beautiful alpaca yarn from my Very Generous Aunt in Washington. There are so many things that I could do with it. I am hesitant though because it has to be great!

Alas, I have 3 tests next week. That means very little knitting time because I "should" be studying. Bummer dude...

Look what I've been up to

The new quarter has started and along with school, I've been very busy clothing children.

Although with the sweater I made for Alexa Claire (who joined us the day OSU went to the Final Four as her uncle likes to remind everyone), I have made another sweater for Sydney and a very manly blue sweater for Cole Gregory.

It's baby town around here and I am loving it. So little and easy to knit for!!

The red sweater is the 5 Hour Baby Sweater. It is (very soft) acrylic yarn. I know, I know, but I had it around and RT is going to start throwing my yarn away if I don't start using it! Anyway, it turned out super cute. It's new home will be with Sydney and luckily it will be cold for a while longer.

Next is the Child's Placket-Neck Pullover in Last Minute Knitted Gifts. It is definitely something I will be making again. This knit kept me busy when I went to see 300 with RT. Although it was a beautiful movie, it was hard for me to watch all of the violence. I am really just a wussy- but, I had my knitting to keep my company. So when I needed a break from slicing people open, I focused on knitting this beautiful- I mean manly- sweater for Cole!
